Our workshop is in Williamstown North, so the inner west is genuinely local for us rather than a market we’ve decided to target. We know the housing stock here — the weatherboard cottages, the post-war brick veneer, the rear additions of wildly varying quality — and we know what tends to be hiding behind the tiles in each.

Altona
1950s and 60s brick veneer and weatherboard, built through the post-war subdivision of the area, with a pocket of older cottages closer to the beach.
Williamstown
Victorian and Edwardian cottages through the historic centre, with interwar and post-war homes further out towards Williamstown North.
Newport
Californian bungalows and weatherboard workers’ cottages, mostly 1920s and 30s, with post-war infill through the northern end.
Spotswood
Small Victorian and Edwardian cottages on tight blocks, with some interwar homes and a growing number of renovated single-fronters.
Yarraville
Victorian and Edwardian cottages, Californian bungalows, and narrow single-fronted terraces close to the village.
Altona North
1950s to 70s brick veneer on larger blocks, including a substantial stretch of former Housing Commission stock, plus newer townhouse developments.
